The Christmas holidays are here again and you know what this means…food, food and more food.  It always feels like you’ve gained a few pounds by the time the new year is rolling in.  The following tips will help you avoid weight gain while still allowing you to enjoy your favorite food.

Drinking plenty of water will help you keep cravings at bay while maintaining a healthy metabolism.  This allows you to eat your favorite food but not to overindulge. By encouraging metabolic processes, the water will enable your body to burn more fat more efficiently.

Include Raw Foods

It’s okay to enjoy your favorite foods but you could try and include some raw foods in your meals. This will increase fiber which is essential for more efficient digestive processes.  Raw foods also act as diet supplements since they add much needed nutrients to meals.

Walking

Walking

Walking is a great workout because it is not very intensive and it gives a chance to enjoy the outdoors.  After meals try and take short brisk walks to help aid digestion and to keep the body’s metabolism active.
