- Good sized red cabbage
- Caraway seeds
- Cayenne pepper
- Chop or shred the cabbage, sprinkle some salt over it and gently knead it onto the cabbage until the cabbage begins to release some moisture. This process should take between 5 and 8 minutes.
- Add one teaspoon of the caraway seeds, a quarter teaspoon of cayenne pepper then mix well while adding a little water. Ensure the cabbage is submerged in a glass jar.
